Memorial and trees of love
Within the first year of bereavement, carers and family members are invited to a special Memorial Service.
This is a short, informal service which gives space for remembrance and the opportunity to light a candle in memory of lost loved ones.
Christmas time can be particularly difficult for bereaved families and many are helped by our annual Tree of Love services. These are held shortly before Christmas and take the form of a simple carol service held near the "Tree of Love" in each hospice.
These Christmas trees are draped with dedications written by family members and friends. During the course of the service the trees are lit up to remember loved ones at this particularly emotive time.
The Tree of Love services and the opportunity to send in dedications are open to all members of the public whether or not their loved ones were connected to the hospice. From November onwards, you will find leaflets about the services in all three hospices and in the hospice shops.
They contain the tags needed to write your dedication and details on how to return them.
